So, this project hasn't exactly gone as planned...as in, I haven't exactly made it to the bridge every week.
I'd like to blame the semi-broken foot.
But that excuse really only accounts for about 6 weeks worth of lapse. I did run to lots of interesting bridges in other locations. Like this one outside of Lake Tahoe, crossing the Truckee River.
And this very cool one in Forest Park in St. Louis.
And this one in Maui.
But if I'm being really honest, I just came up short, turned into a slug, lost the drive. It seems I missed the fall color entirely. I am hoping 2011 will be a better year for the training bridge. I've been to the bridge twice in the last 2 weeks (or maybe it is 3 times in the last three weeks). And the forest is already transforming from totally brown to having a few hints of green. I'm sure in no time the vines will cover the ground, and a canopy of leaves will block the sky just like they did in June when I first started documenting the bridge. Here's a short video with all of the pictures from the last 9 months. You can see a transformation, though if I keep to the plan, this time next year the video will be even more dramatic.
Love the video; the music is kind of hilarious too. I definitely want to see the changing of the seasons next time around. I also appreciate that any ol' bridge can be a training bridge.
