A Different Bridge

I'm out of town this week, which makes finding a bridge a fun challenge.  I found this one pretty easily.

This ugly picture makes it clear, the bridge itself wasn't the main attraction on this run.  I departed from the house where we're staying near the Squaw Valley ski resort.  There are nice paved trails that seem to go on forever.  So, I followed the trail down the hill to the Truckee River, and then ran along the river for 5 miles or so (still on paved trails the whole time).  There were people floating down the river on rafts and it looked so incredibly refreshing.  Instead of hopping in, I just kept sipping from my Camel Back wishing I had worn a swim suit.  The views were incredible.

And the weather was perfect too.

The only downside was the elevation, which led to a whole lot of huffing and puffing on my part.

By the Numbers:
Miles: 12
Pace: SLOW 12 min per mile, but I felt good at the end.
